HAPPY NEW YEAR

It's been a few days but I hope you all enjoyed the holiday and are still enjoying. We did a short trip and may do another. I am currently enjoying my family. I have again been assigned to take my son to the library so this is a good place for me to sit and read again.

I'm still trying to come up with resolutions that are attainable.

I will be sure to let you know if I do.

HAPPY HOLIDAY

Things do look like they are heating up in Washington and right before the holiday too.

Hopefully people will get their just deserts.

I’m hoping for apple pie..pumpkin is not my thing.

Happy Holidays all. I celebrate Christmas so you all enjoy whatever you celebrate. Things get hectic. We travel a bit over the next week.

Enjoy your time with family and friends.

Five Weird Things

I’ve been too busy to do much writing this week.
I’ll rectify that later on this month I hope.
In the meantime I am going to do a tag because the Girl on the Blog tagged me with the question of five weird habits.

1. I must wear flannel pajama bottoms no top no exceptions for weather.
2. According to my wife I snore when I am on my left side only; she thinks I do it on purpose. She spends quite a bit of time trying to roll me back and forth.

3. Peanut butter on apples or on celery. These are staples that must be in my home at all times.

3. Losing my glasses. I wear contacts and use glasses one third of the time. I lose three pairs a year without fail.

5. Play old Grateful Dead records when we have guests no matter who the guests may be.

I need to state that I am opposed to the death penalty and think that the governor made a mistake he will pay for dearly. He is already in a political jam and I think morally this was the wrong thing to do.

Weekend

The Patriot Act up for renewal. I have extremely mixed feeling about this and think they really haven't looked at the toll it takes on our civil liberties.

I think Arnold has a busy weekend. I don't believe in the death penalty so my choice is to let him live and continue to do what he has been doing for the paste years. Makes sense. It cost more to execute him anyway.

Just looking at Shaq would scare me. He will end up a commissioner in some elected law enforcement office you wait and see.

I am the assitant house trimmer for decorating this weekend and then will attend a mandatory social event to kick off the season.

Everyone have a good weekend.

We still miss John Lennon.

Nothing I can say will suffice.

Denies torture?

Denies torture?

I caught a bit of this news flash this morning.

Last night I watched a show, briefly, about how to tell if someone is lying.

In my non expert opinion Condi is pretty good at it, but she is not telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth; she's not as good as JFK but not as bad as Clinton. The lift of the eyebrows and the roll of the eyes give it away. She could have disguised it better. I’m sure they give thorough instructions on this.

Hope you had a great weekend.

December Begins

This weekend will be a lot of putting up a few outside Christmas lights which takes time and patience; right now it's UNK/UK basketball to give me time to gather some of that patience.

I think my son will enjoy the lights this year; he's two and the lights will fascinate him.

Have a good weekend.

Post Thanksgiving.

Busy four days and I haven't had much time to write.
Hope everyone had a great holiday.
Ours was pretty nice overall, some good food and drink, visits with family and friends, college football and some much needed time spent with family.

Congress is still out so the news is not as full of itself as it could be.

A NYT article claims Bush has stated that the time to start leaving Iraq is when the commanders on the ground tell him that the Iraqi forces can defend their freedom. I am pretty sure that it has already been ascertained that in order for this to progress to the point necessary their would actually have to be an all out , full blast effort; one which would include initially a whole lot more man power. Is this whole thing not a picture of ineffectual action?

It is getting discouraging.

Hope to get some blog time later this evening.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY

I'll be out tomorrow due to eating too much more that anything else.
You all have a happy day and enjoy it whatever it is you do.

"Walk the Line" was well worth seeing whether you are a Cash fan or not but especially if you are.

I hope the congress gets it's collective head together durng their two week break, they need to start making sense of things again.

Weekend

This is not a stunt. This is not an attack on an individual. This is a legitimate question," said Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.), chairman of the Armed Services Committee, who introduced the withdrawal resolution. He said he was concerned that Murtha's remarks on Thursday had inaccurately sent a message to the troops and the rest of the world that Congress no longer supported the deployment.

I don't yet know what to make of this but if a representative such as Murtha comes out with such a statement I have to give it some credence. They are going to eat him alive though I expect he knew that.

As far as the Atheist sueing to take God off money??? What a waste of time and money.

Boston College and Wake Forest both won yesterday which makes me happy as the season begins. Nice stuff.

Weekend of winterizing the home front.
Thinking about checking out a movie this evening if we can get a babysitter. That's the kicker once you have a kid...you got to get a baby sitter, and not just any babysitter it has to be the best babysitter, the one who your child "relates too". Does a two year old "relate"? I don't know, but I'm guessing the babysitter he "relates" to best, as soon as she locks the door behind us starts plying my son with cookies and candy while letting him jump on the beds with wild abandon. That's my boy.

In perspective.

Not a whole lot of time to post this week. I'm putting life in perspective, looking at the over eighty- seven thousand dead post earthquake in Palestine.

Life is short in many cases.
Enjoy it.

Weekend Times.

Carolina over Florida.
Spurrier Faces His Old Team, and Promptly Turns the Table
This pleases me to no end.

Graham if you stop by congrats on England over Argentina.

I'm taking the weekend off and readng no newspaper reports on politics.
Maybe it will all go away and be perfectly respectable by Monday.

True True Lies

The elections turned out pretty much as we had hoped.
Kansas, I just don’t understand that state.
I admit to having never set foot in that state and don’t want to offend anyone from that state but what gives?

Pennsylvania at least the people in Dover have woken up and stated their case. Good for them.

Arnold….what can I say, you were really good in the Terminator, and I really liked True Lies because Jamie Lee was nice to look at. I think there is a chance that they would go for a few more sequels.

Judith Miller retireind from the times, not unexpected but damn I woul dlike to see that severence package.

When it it become so damn cold?

I'll try again.

Lunch break and here I am.

Awaiting the news of all the votes today. It’s being hailed as a day that will mark the political climate. I'm not so sure. There's Arnold of course and his situations and then that loony in Virginia that the president is supporting. Let's see what happens.

It also looks as though it will be hard to get this trial of Hussein's going; all the killing of lawyers isn't helping. I bet they end up moving it.

This past weekend was spent with my family and enjoying some incredible weather but tonight will be the start of raking up the leaves. This is the first year we have owned a house with any significant acreage and I can't say I'll looking forward to cleaning up two acres of leaves so I'm currently looking in the classifieds for help with that and considering some kind of compost pile. They look good when other people do them anyway.

I am afraid to try to add links right now so I think I'll wait until blogger has fully recovered from whatever illness it had the other day.

Template messed up

For whatever reason blogger destroyed my template. I have no idea what happened; I had not touched it. I had to change the template because half the template disappeared. I am going to try to add the old links and will have to figure out the rest later.

Trouble with Blogger.

I've been having trouble periodically posting comments and entries.
I just know this post will go through because it will be short and have no content.
I have a busy week so hopefully will be able to post something later on.
If blogger is working, which is always the question I guess.

Halloween Weekend

Maybe I'm too particular.
Maybe I'm the product of overprotective parents.
The sugar content of the things handed out at a party my TWO YEAR OLD attended this afternoon was incomprehensible. I will be paying for this child's dental care for quite some time so I have a least a little wiggle room in the complaining department. He had a good time, dressed as Nemo; can't wait till the time I can suggest he dress like a real male - The Lion King.

Libby Indicted: I certainly hope this is not the end. I caught a little on Fox just to see how they were presenting this and it seems like to them this is just persecution and the rest will get off scott free. I'm not saying anyone else did anything but Fox just needs to give up the attitude.Scum comes to mind often.

Chicago won which is fine with me as Texas isn't doing anything for me lately and a short World Series gives me time for other things - Trick or Treat.

Late nights.

Chicago wins and Miers is gone.
Nice morning.
Maybe the worst is yet to come; we'll just have to wait and see.
Indictments Friday.

I'm tired I've had two rather late night in front of the televison.

Chicago

I’m going with Chicago for the whole thing; Houston has what I think of as their best pitcher on the mound tonight, so if Chicago takes this one they take it all in four; if not we’ll just have to wait an extra couple days.

I’m off the road through the spooky season leading me to believe I will be taking my son out for Halloween. I am not really sure this is a good idea because when I was very young, and dressed up in some kind of overly warm outfit on a night I knew nothing about, I remember being frightened. They say you don’t remember, but I do. Regardless of my feelings my wife insists we participate, for the pictures more than anything else, and we will.

What do we make of this.

World Series Weekend

Despite my team not being present I think this World Series is worth watching.I can take or leave either team but suspect if Chicago wins the party will be huge.

Shockingly Woods and Singh both missed the cut at the Funai Classic ; I guess even the best fall down sometimes.

I don't think there will be any earth shattering news this weekend.

I'll scroll around a little otherwise this weekend is for my family, trying to prepare the lawn for winter , sports and beer and possibly having to tolerate a brother and sister in law.

FOOTBALL WEEKEND

I too will be watching football this weekend, taking it easy. I have spent a few days working from home and even took my son to the library this week. He is very young so I’m not quite sure the purpose of library reading times but it is part of his schedule. I mainly played with him and did crazy man things; he is only two so the man thing didn’t work out too well but you know you got to start sometime.

I’ll be catching up with the sites I read in little bits here and there and will add more interesting sites as I find them. My wife has threatened to start her own blog but she doesn’t want to read mine, she is of the mindset that sometimes spouses just need their own thing.

I won’t be talking too much about my family on this thing because I don’t really feel like having the whole world peeking in to my life. I do enjoy when others write about their lives though. Does that make me bad in some way? Don’t know, don’t care.

News is News

From the Washinton Post ,
Cheney's Office Is a Focus in Leak Case got it froma an America Blog link ,which I got to from Wonderlandornot ,which I got to after scrolling through Politcal Notio. I could hardly get anywhere without a map it seems.

No big news but where do we go from here?

I have to congratulate the White Sox and express my disappointment ainthe results of the Notre Dame Game.

The Weekend is Upon Us

The Northeast has suffered some flooding a bit out of the ordinary this last week. Hope everything is well with all Northeasterners. I spent a good part of my life there and not being that far away now I have special feelings for the area.

It seems that Rove had a rough day in front of the Grand Jury;can't wait to see what the end result it. Hope not to be too disappointed.

My portfolio is still doing me well. That is the Republican in me coming out ; the part I have kept.

Tonight baseball.

Ruminations only.

Are Bushes reassurances enough to keep his base satisfied?

I’m pretty sure his base is not the only ones that would like to know his real reasons for choosing her.

What is going on with Rove and where is Cheney? Not only where is he physically but where dos he stand?

My beloved Red Sox having bit the dust have made the autumn baseball viewing not as important. I was happy as a pig in shit to see the Yankees ousted the other night and hope Chicago can make a good showing.

Monday, October 10, 2005

With the Red Sox out of it I don't know where to turn, so the Yankees game will be on tonight.

I almost feel bad for the Braves.

Have to see how this pans out. I for one am glad Hockey is back.

The news, from a political standpoint, seems to be "pending", with no real motion either left or right.

The earthquake toll appears to be incomprehensible.

Work.

Too Much Going On.

Too much news wise going on; indictments, increased terror alerts, hockey beginning and baseball continuing, it seems it will never end.
I’m glad the NHL has returned but Baseball will be my haven this weekend, baseball good friends and a small amount of work.

I can’t wait to see how all this news turns out over the next few weeks.

Damn Yankees

Sox lost, and that is the way the weekend is going. The Indians lost so sox still have a lead in the wild card race. I'll be holding my breath. Damn Yankees.

I decided to surf this blog explosion thing and there is some really bad stuff out there but it is fascinating.

My Wife: You searching porn sites?
Me: No what I've seen is much worse.

Role of Rove, Libby in CIA Leak Case Clearer

My bet is there will be no indictments or charges.
Damn shame I say.

Down Day

Haven't had a whole lot of time to do this but I'm working at home so I am going to post.

I laughed when I saw Brown on the news last night and that is all I have to say.

The country is in dire straights economically; my portfoilio looks good however.

I am waiting to see what tonight brings the Red Sox.

I added two non political links; at least one it totally non political and one that is partially political and partially the musings of a twenty year old college student.

Wonderland or Not: A pretty clever and well written journal which includes vague accounts of her life, poetry, political commentary, random stories and sometimes what appear to be real news articles she has written. I ended up there via Politcal Notio, one of the better places to have small discussions on political items with a more or less bipartisan group, where she comments and sounds much older and much brighter than her twenty years. When you read her site it is obvious she is twenty going on fifty. It does give me hope that all the twenty year olds have not lost their mind but still maintain their spirit. Some explicit but very well used language.

Zazzafooky: I came upon this through another site and I found it immediately entertaining as well as endearing, despite not wanting to use such a feminine word. She is a totally non - political site so I did not have to get my brain in gear to read her. She entertains by just writing, mostly about whatever comes to mind and she does it well. She writes about toilets and she writes about her life and it is all worth reading.

I think I just needed to justify my linking to sites that are not completely political.

Thank God for the BBC

Worked late last night and when I came home I was flicking through the news. It seems to me that putting yourself in the path of the hurricane is pretty stupid.

The reporters were out in Texas among flying debris one holding on to a wind meter; the wind meter finally broke because the wind was too strong.

There was barely coverage of anything but the hurricane and although I think they should cover it I was hoping there would be more coverage of world events.

Thank god for the BBC.

Let's hope next week brings some interesting developements on the news front.

This weekend if for relaxing.

Our boys are still dying in Iraq, let us not forget.

My cigar.

I don't smoke.
I did cigars in college and grad school but stopped imbibing regularly few years ago. Now they is saved for those rare occasions when I get together with old buds or when a client offers after a business dinner; I'm too weak to refuse and it would be rude.

This is my cigar now.

I find it interesting that although I created this blog mainly to view and comment others, and considering that I do not write in it that often, that I got me some spam.

Interesting developments with Korea and with Bush and his group trying to meander their way out of past mistakes without calling them mistakes.

I am finding the world of blogs interesting and at times informative.

I am having some fun with it also and am now gathering a few links that although not political are all interesting and well written in their own right.

There are some fun things out there and at my age, almost fifteen years out of college, I am all for a little laughter and wit.

There is hope for the future

We have been through a hell of a few weeks here in the good old United States of America.

Let us ponder.

I am adding some interesting links, most of them of a political nature.

I may add a few that are not political if I find them interesting.

I am heartened to see that there are people out there of the younger generation that are paying attention to what is happening and seem to be taking an action of sorts and at the very least are thinking and doing their own research.

I think there is hope for the future.

Looking to add some links to my favorite sites soon.

Creation

This blog was created so that I could comment on other blogs, blogs of a political nature. I just recently discovered blog land due to a niece and find that there is some dialogue occurring out here.
